Hello --
Do any of you know what the A# is on the I-485 / I-130 / I-765 etc is for people who have previously held an F-1 / OPT-related A#? I have seen previous forums stating that OPT A#s begin with a "1" which connotes an OPT status; however I am not clear whether we are supposed to use that same A# on our I-485 and other GC-related documents, or leave that space blank.
Sorry this is redundant but previous posts don't seem to clarify a definitive answer to this question. Many thanks in advance.

I was under the assumption that you cannot file for EAD unless your I-485 application has been filed. How come Amit1234 applied for his EAD, his priority date is Jan 04 EB3. Just curious.

You can go and get it stamped in Canada. I went to Ottawa on Jan 25th and got it stamped same boat as you.

If wife name is not mentioned what is the consequence?
I just checked mine, my wife name was mentioned but my son wasnt, and we applied his 485 without any problems, so i think you should not have any problems as long as you file her 485 with marriage certificate before your 485 is approved.

graduated with a MS in Computer science in may2007.
i applied to another university and got my sevis transferred to do my MBA there.
i have done 11 months 20 days of full time CPT at the previous university(where i did my MS).
am i eligible for another full time CPT at my new university where i have started my MBA (from jan 21st 2008)?
the international students service at my previous university is saying "i am eligible for 12months of full time CPT for every educational level, and i cannot get another 12 months if i do MBA because it is a masters degree too".
please suggest.

We did the exact same thing. We informed officer that my wife's Extension is pending, he said that's fine and gave her I-94 valid for 40 days (time remaining on her H4 visa).

Hi,
If I enter using H1-B/L1visa then I-94 validity end date will be ususally till the visa expiration date.
Suppose if I am entering US on Advanced Parole(I-131), what will be the validity enddate for I-94? If suppose they give for 1 year how to extend that if i am not going out-off US?

I think You need to be out of USA for more than 1 Year which will reset your L1/H1 time accumulation.
In your case Your all L1 stay will be counted which start on arrival & stops on departure from USA.
So though your L1 approved in Mar your L1 time count starts from DEC-2008. H1/L1 times counted together but you get additional year (6th year) compared to L1. Looks you have more than 2 year on your L1.

At the time of filing my application I just used one address.
Somehow I didn't know you could use Permanent address and current address.
You have used "one" address in I485, the same should be reflected in G325 - Consult with your lawyer.
I'm not sure but I guess my lawyer didn't file G325 form.
Is filing G325 form something mandatory ?

I have a Q regarding the follow-to-join rule. Say one has filed I-140 and I-485 recently (concurrently filing). To use the follow-to-join rule, can the spouse file I-485 at any time after the primary applicant's I-140 is approved but before I-485 is approved? In that case, will the spouse's I-485 be approved around the same time as the primary applicant?
A related Q, will a Visa number be immediately available after one's I-140 is approved?

Are you married to a USC? If so, you have nothing to worry about. Do not travel until your GC is approved as AP is not 100% safe for people that overstayed.

I am on H1, 7th year extension. My Labor just got approved. About to file 140. Now my project has apparently lost funding and the employer is offering me a temp job for 6 months till my 140 gets approved so I can use the approved 140 and move. But the catch is the new job requires a new H1 - different job description and pay. Will this affect my 140 filed with the old H1?
Let your lawyer confirm this: Get your I140 approval, if possible by using premium filing. File for a 3 year H1 extension. After extension, transfer H1 to new employer. Start GC process with new employer but maintaining your PD since your old employer aill not revoke your I140.
